1911

Franklin Clarence Mars opens the Mars Candy Factory in Tacoma, Washington with his wife, Ethel.

1969

Mars Electronics International develops the first electronic coin mechanism to increase the growth of vending markets, and subsequently expands into the gaming, transport and retail markets.

2006

MEI is sold to Bain Capital, whose investment leads to the introduction of recycling and cash management products that redefine automated payment systems.

2013

Crane Co. acquires MEI Conlux and integrates the business with Crane Payment Solutions, whose portfolio includes the Telequip, CashCode, Money Controls and NRI legacy brands.
